For more than twenty-five years, the Anglo-Australasian Lawyers Society (UK Chapter) has brought together lawyers, judges, academics and students with an interest in the legal professions and common law traditions of England and Wales, Australia and New Zealand.
The Society provides a forum in which members develop professional and personal connections, exchange ideas and strengthen the longstanding relationships between our jurisdictions. Through a programme of lectures, discussions and social events, the Society encourages informed consideration of legal developments while fostering the collegiality that has long characterised the common law community.
Whether you are established in practice, newly arrived in the United Kingdom, pursuing an academic career or entering the profession, the Society offers opportunities to engage with colleagues who share an interest in the law and legal institutions of our closely connected jurisdictions.
Our patrons include serving and former justices of the UK Supreme Court and the Court of Appeal, and recent guests of the Society have included two former Prime Ministers of Australia.
