Membership of the Anglo-Australasian Lawyers Society is open to anyone with an interest in the legal systems and legal professions of England and Wales, Australia and New Zealand.
The Society welcomes members at every stage of their careers. Whether you are working in private practice, at the Bar, in-house, in government, in academia, studying law, retired from practice, or simply interested in the law, membership provides an opportunity to participate in the life of a professional society committed to strengthening relationships across our three jurisdictions.
Membership enables participation in the Society’s activities and supports its wider objective of maintaining the longstanding professional connections between our jurisdictions. The Society’s programme of lectures, panel discussions, receptions, dinners and other events provides opportunities to exchange ideas, develop professional relationships and foster friendships with colleagues from a wide range of legal backgrounds.
Membership also includes the benefits of the Society’s corporate membership of the Britain–Australia Society. Members are encouraged to take advantage of the Britain–Australia Society’s programme of lectures, cultural events and other activities.
Members become part of a community with a shared interest in the common law traditions, legal institutions and professional life of England and Wales, Australia and New Zealand. Members enjoy special rates at most of the Society’s events.
Gold
£675 per annum. Suitable for law firms, chambers and companies; all members of a Gold-tier organisation may attend UK Chapter events at member rates.
Gold members
Silver
£65 per annum. Individual membership, entitling the member to attend all Society functions at member rates.
Bronze
£30 per annum. A concessionary rate for students, academics, NGOs and similar, entitling the member to attend UK Chapter events that year at member rates.
Subscriptions fall due on 1 March each year.
